I first became involved with survival some 30 years ago, when a club I belonged to sponsored a survival class.  The sleeping on the ground and eating bugs part was not that enticing, but designing and building survival kits captured my interest.  It became almost a game; putting more and more stuff in smaller and smaller packages.  Finding new gadgets which would do more stuff, or do it better or was just smaller.

My most recent focus is attempting to build a ‘survival kit’ into a paracord bracelet.  Of course, the things which can not be made to fit are pretty disturbing in their lack, so that lead to the concept of a combination of the bracelet and a pocket kit.  As I worked on this, it became obvious that I had a lot of information and needed more.  Perhaps this information could be of use to others; thus this blog.
